Magaluf has been dubbed the “premier party resort” on the Mediterranean Spanish island of Majorca (Mallorca) because of its appeal particularly to those in the age group of 18 to 35 who congregate In June, July, and August. The busy night life in its hundreds of bars, clubs, and discos continues until dawn. Nightlife is mainly on the Punta Ballena Strip, and you can buy a club pass that will gain you admission to five of the major clubs. Restaurants and accommodations cater to these younger tourists with budget prices and many fast food establishments. There is also go-kart racing, bungee jumping, Xtreme buggies, golfing, horseback riding, and exploring.
In the off-season you will find more older visitors and families who can also enjoy the many water sports and attractions available for all ages. Since this is a small resort that surrounds a bay, a major asset is that everything is within a short distance and can be walked to. Another asset is that it is only ten miles from Palma and only a fifteen minute taxi ride from the airport in Palma.
In addition to soaking up the sun, there are the water sports of sailing, jet skiing, kite surfing, water skiing, scuba diving, and others. The Western Water Park has water activities such as a steep water drop, water acrobats, water slides, and more. There are also Wild West rides, an animal farm, and other offerings. Aqualand is another water park; and Marineland has an aquarium and shows with dolphins, seals, sea lions, and parrots.
You can go to the Pirates Adventure for a show and dinner and interaction with the pirates. Magaluf’s center has a promenade with shops for those who find shopping their main priority. Only a short taxi ride away is the Gran Casino Mallorca with shows, a four-course dinner, and the usual casino games.
Restaurants are very affordable and offer an international choice of cuisine including Spanish, English, Chinese, Mexican, Indian, and Italian. Most restaurants cater to British tastes with dishes including such favorites as shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, bangers and mash, and Sunday roasts.
